The Barrie Canoe& Kayak Club is located on the south shore of Lake
Simcoe's Kempenfelt Bay (Named after Royal Navy
Rear-Admiral Richard Kempenfelt) in the Southshore Community Centre
205 Lakeshore Drive in Barrie. You will find us behind the building on the lower
level where we share building and dock facilities with our good neighbours, the
Barrie Rowing Club. From either
direction on Hwy 400 exit east bound on to Essa Road and follow it to Tiffin
Street. Turn right on Tiffin, towards the water, then turn right on to Lakeshore
Drive. The Community Centre is just a few hundred meters on your left.
The Barrie Canoe Club
(BCC) was established in 1977. From the initial membership of 20 canoeists, the
club membership has grown to over 350 paddlers. To better represent the wider
variety of paddling disciplines, in 2005 the Barrie Canoe Club officially
changed it name to the "Barrie Canoe and Kayak Club Inc." (BCKC).
