Using Barrie Canoe and Kayak Club (BCKC)
Equipment
Use of BCKC equipment is a privilege of
membership. Equipment may be used by current members while on course or while
participating in an advertised BCKC trip.
Equipment use must be authorized by the
Course Instructor or the Trip Leader. Equipment requirements for Courses are
filled ahead of Trip requests. The Equipment Director has the authority to
adjudicate and/or deny usage.
-
To find out whether a boat is
available, check the reservation book in the boathouse at the
Southshore Community Centre (SSCC) for the date you need.
-
If available, write in your
request giving membership number, equipment number, destination, trip
leader or instructor's name, date you will be taking the equipment out and
date you will be returning equipment.
-
Equipment must be signed in and
out on the dates it is being used. There is an equipment usage book
at the Southshore boathouse for that purpose. Failure to sign equipment in and
out, and/or failure to return equipment on the return date will result in loss
of privilege.
-
Please treat equipment with care.
Make sure it is clean and in better condition than when you got it. Failure
to do so will result in loss of privilege.
-
Report loss or damage to the
trip leader or instructor. Fill
out an Equipment Damage/Loss Form; also available at the SSCC boathouse.
BCKC equipment may not be taken for personal use
under any circumstances.
