2008 COURSE PARTICIPANTS
Providing training for our members is a large part of what the Barrie Canoe and Kayak Club is all about. Proper training not only ensures safety on our trips; but, I think everyone would agree that having the proper skills makes for a much more enjoyable trip. We have a great group of dedicated instructors who teach both canoeing and kayaking for us, and I would like to thank them on behalf of the club for their dedication. Unfortunately the overall number of participants was down this year with the exception of Canoe Tripping II. This is an advanced level that has a long list of prerequisites. It is not every year that we have enough people that have the qualifications; but, this year there were seven participants who are now in a position to be Trip Leaders. Congratulations to all!!!!!
