NEWS FLASH - MEGA QUARRY APPLICATION FILED BY HIGHLANDS The Highland Companies has filed an application for a 937 ha (2,300 acre) quarry to be dug up to 57.6 metres (189 feet) below the water table. There are three separate applications involved. One is an application to the Ministry of Natural Resources for their aggregate license. One is an application to the Township of Melancthon for an Official Plan Amendment. One is an application to the Township of Melancthon for a Zoning Bylaw Amendment. Each application will require letters of objection within very prescribed time frames and in very prescribed forms and NDACT will be providing all of that information for you shortly via emails, our website, facebook and newsletters for the objection process and dates of public meetings.
