Day Trip to MaCrae Lake – McDonald River Access
Trip Leader: Marilyn Clark
Date: July 25, 1999
To get to MaCrae Lake, you have to get off Hwy #400 (formerly #69) at Georgian Bay Road. There is a big sign for the exit. The ramp goes off on the right, so you have to circle around and cross under the highway to get to the west side. Just as you cross under, there's a turnoff to the right for Hwy. #400 South to Toronto. Take that and watch for a paved road on the left which heads downhill. It's very short and stops at the path to the put-in. There was no sign to identify this access. There were some break-ins a couple of weeks before we were there, so move your valuables out-of-sight and lock your vehicles.
